‘Stone’ LP out now from incredible vocalist Kelly Moneymaker

Having previously worked with highly rated US girl band Exposé and shared the stage with George Clinton, Diana Ross, Keith Urban and more, vocalist Kelly Moneymaker is an experienced musician to say the least.

Her new album, ‘Stone’, sees Moneymaker working solo on a mature, classy collection of soul tracks, full of energy and catchy choruses. The genre, rooted in decades old tradition, still has power and passion when delivered correctly – something which Moneymaker does a great job of here.

‘Skippin’ Stones’ (above) opens proceedings with a bang, before full on blues gets an outing with ‘Bad Boy’ and the languid ‘Stone Butterfly’. From there, the album alternates between the finger picked likes of Steve Winwood cover ‘Can’t Find My Way Home’ and the rockier ‘Campin’ Song’ – which is lyrical highlight in terms of simplicity and its nods to good old fashioned country music.

However, no matter how the eclectic the genres included here – one thing holds it all together. Kelly Moneymaker’s dramatic and captivating voice.
