Paige Bryan was born November 11, in Los Angeles, California. This talented singer/songwriter lives and breathes music. Born a natural performer, it is no surprise that she is the daughter of comedian and entertainer Sinbad. When asked what drew her to music, Paige smiles and recalls, “I can’t pinpoint a time when I actually got into music, but music was always a prominent influence in my childhood.” Growing up and watching iconic acts perform during her father’s NAACP Image Award winning 70’s Soul Music Festival in the mid-90’s, undoubtedly played an important role in shaping her desire to pursue her own passion for making music. Paige became intrigued about the idea of doing something you love that could touch people lives in such a way that only music can.
Paige began her career as a member of the Christian rock/pop/urban group, Press Play. The act hit both the Billboard 200 (No. 45), the magazine’s Top Christian Albums chart (No. 2), and Top Independent Albums charts (No. 6) in 2009, with the title track and album “Life Is Beautiful,” for which Paige received composer and vocal credit. Following, performances included appearances on the “Today Show,” “Fox & Friends” and other major outlets, plus a year of touring, She later left the group; opting to pursue a solo career.
Paige put her heart into her first solo project entitled, “Imperfect Me,” released in 2010. Co-written by Paige and producer/songwriter Chaka “The Chakfather” Blackmon. The album’s contemporary mélange of R&B/soul/funk showcases her myriad skills as a singer/songwriter. Her song “Here I Am,” received award winning recognition in the 2011 USA Songwriting Competition, by taking home 1st Prize in the R&B category. After receiving another opportunity to co-write her second project with Swoop Brown, Paige released, “Pieces of Me,” in 2012.
Throughout her career, Paige has opened for and/or shared the stage with great artists such as Erykah Badu, Sean Kingston, Macy Gray, Jennifer Hudson, Eric Benet, Brian Culbertson, Eric Darius, Ray Parker Jr., and many others. Paige was also honored by receiving an Armed Forces Entertainment invitation to perform, with her father, for our troops in Europe and completed a five week tour of US military bases in 2010. Paige will perform for our troops again in April 2014, visiting bases in the Middle East and Japan.
Paige’s solo TV appearances include performances on The Mo’Nique Show and her families reality TV show on WEtv, “Sinbad: It’s Just Family. Other live performances either as an opening act or a solo artist include shows at venues and festivals such as the Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole, Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise, and Family Reunion, Essence Festival Walmart Pavilion, Soul Beach Music Festival, The Napa Valley Jazz Getaway, Avalon Hollywood, Nokia Live, Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City Walk, Canyon Club and more. In 2013, Paige accepted the opportunity to fill in as lead female vocal for the GMA Dove Award nominated group, Group 1 Crew, with performances throughout the US and Canada.
Her live shows include a variety of genres that appeal to audiences of all ages, ranging from Top 40 hits to her own original works. Her 2014 performances include 5 SXSW showcases at venues such as the Blind Pig, Karma Lounge, Haven Lounge, FOX7 Morning Show, as well as a private event at Club NYNY. You may also catch Paige performing with her dad’s band, Memphis Red & The Stank Nasty Band.
With two albums under her belt, Paige continues to grow and evolve musically. Her newest project, inspirationally, has taken her outside of her box. Entitled, “A Mile in Stilettos,” it is her best work to date and has something for everyone. Incorporating the many different styles of music she has come to love, Paige’s music will stir your soul, inspire reflection and forever birth a nostalgic union to a memorable place or moment in time. It’s an exciting new direction for this soulful, intuitive singer/songwriter. Look for “A Mile in Stilettos” to be released in 2014.
