Annie Afrilu – History (One Direction Cover)

Annie Afrilu is a sensational, Pop singer songwriter from Crystal Palace in South London. From 4 years old Annie was singing the likes of Etta James, Pavarotti & Mariah around the house. At 15 years old Annie washed cars for singing lessons, which earned her a full scholarship to hone her skills at the prestigious Trinity College of Music.

Annie Afrilu embodies style with great headdresses and flamboyant attire never too far. A true artist both in performance & creation, Annie writes empowering songs about surviving domestic abuse, struggling with adolescent issues such as beauty and love songs to bring nations together. One thing you remember after watching Annie Afrilu is a powerful vocal, heartfelt songs and the next generation of engaging performer.

Early 2014 Annie Afrilu entered the Samsung Launching People Competition and Won the music strand. Annie Afrilu was the chosen singer from many entrants for The One’s To Watch TV programme, Sky 1 hand picked by Paloma Faith to be her Protégé. Within the first day of the show Annie Afrilu gained Paloma Faith as her mentor and a no. 1 fan of her songwriting and vocal, Idris Elba as a fan and the infamous Rankin took her photograph!

Since then Annie’s celebrity fan base has expanded with Nick Grimshaw and Samuel L Jackson. Late 2014 Annie sang an impromptu song on stage at the infamous Abbey Road Studios to a star studded audience including Nicole Scherzinger & Jahmene Douglas, at the end of the performance Samuel L Jackson jumped on stage beside Annie fanning the heat and championing Annie!
