As the First Artist Signed to Dropkicks’ Label, the Acclaimed Roots Rocker Has Shared the Stage with Such Acts as Dropkick, Rancid, Chuck Ragan, Frank Turner, Jaime Wyatt and More
After more than four years traversing continental Europe with such renowned artists as the Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, Chuck Ragan, and Frank Turner, critically acclaimed Americana folk rocker Jesse Ahern has announced his first solo UK/ European tour. The Acoustic Alternative singer-songwriter and guitarist has kicked off the “Roots Rock Rebel Tour.”

During these intimate performances, Ahern will perform a collection of songs from his repertoire including his latest record Roots Rock Rebel, which he released on Dropkick Murphys’ Dummy Luck Music/[PIAS] label last September. The 10-track album, which was produced by Grammy® Award-winner Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Gaslight Anthem) was the first release on Dummy Luck Music/[PIAS] and received rave reviews from fans and critics alike for its gritty blend of rock, roots, and introspective storytelling. In fact, Americana Highways wrote “Roots Rock Rebel is a gruff, no-frills accounting of blue-collar life with a strong anti-authoritarian streak.”
The album’s first two singles “Pray” and “Back Against The Wall” epitomize Ahern’s humble beginnings, particularly “Back Against The Wall,” which addresses the struggles of everyday working-class people. He says rather than “speak for them,” he speaks as “one of them– as a middle-class townie from Quincy, MA.”
“For most of my life, I’ve either played music or had to work with my hands. I’ve definitely seen the ups and downs of the economy and the middle class fade away. I don’t define myself as a working-class musician, I define myself as someone who has empathy for anybody who’s working hard,” he said.
These themes, a sheer talent, passion, and grit, are sure to translate no matter what country or city Ahern is performing in.
