Artist Interview
The Triumvirate Recently Released a Rollicking Rendition of “Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You”

Music Crowns had the chance to catch up with Douglas about this sizzling seasonal single and other things and he didn’t hold back! Enjoy!
Music Crowns: When did you start making music?
Dustin Douglas: I started at a very young age. I began playing guitar around the age of 8 and started writing songs shortly after. I played on stage for the first time at age 13 and a year later started my first band.
MC: What was your first guitar?
DD: My first guitar was a Cruise VMI Stratocaster copy with a single humbucker. I actually still have it!
MC: Who are the musicians involved in your project?
DD: The Electric Gentlemen are drummer Tommy Smallcomb and bassist Matthew Gabriel.
MC: Who are your biggest musical influences?
DD: My influences range far and wide however late 60’s and early 70’s blues-based rock n roll is my favorite flavor. Lyrically, I love Faces era Rod Stewart, Steve Marriott of Humble Pie and The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson. As far as guitarists, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Perry and Keith Richards are a few of many!
MC: What inspired you to release a holiday song?
DD: I’m a huge fan of Christmas music and the Holidays in general. We’ve released a number of Holiday songs over the years but this year we finally recorded our version of “CHRISTMAS IS THE TIME TO SAY I LOVE YOU” by Billy Squier, a song I knew I’d record someday.
MC: What do you hope fans take away from this song and your music in general?
DD: That old-school rock n’ roll is not dead but alive and well and thriving!
MC: When you aren’t playing music or working what are you doing?
DD: Sleeping! Lol I tend to be a workaholic and am always striving to take the band to the next level so with rehearsals, writing, recording and touring there’s not to much down time. No rest for the wicked!
MC: Anything you want to add?
