With a history in music behind him, he is blazing forward with a new sound that feels more natural than anything he has done before. The single is called ‘No More’ and it has a structure and sound that really lends to the message of the song and that sets Sam apart from his hip/hop counterparts.
The track has beautiful instrumentals that give a sense of levitation. The chords are lovely and compliment the beat of the track quite well. Sam’s lyrics about personal struggles and setback build and build along with the music until they both crescendo into a final release of self-confidence and freedom from the past. The music and the meaning fit so seamlessly that they are one. If Sam can create enough songs like this, he could have a pretty stellar album on his hand. I can only hope that he has something like that in the works or at least in the forefront of his mind.
