Yesterday, Cork trio The Lost Gecko released their brand new single ‘Brothers’. Today, we get a first glimpse of the video for it! This song has a very contemplative feel to it, and the sound of this release is quite astonishing because it creates a big, mesmerizing soundscape, achieving richness without necessarily relying on too many elements within the mix. As they say, “the less is more,” and the talented musicians in The Lost Gecko definitely seem to be taking this lesson to heart! The song is played softly, allowing the dynamics of each band member to truly stand out. In addition to that, the many colors and additional instruments add a nice texture, without necessarily overpowering the underlying minimalism that makes this song (and the sound of the trio in general) quite special. The Lost Gecko achieved where many have failed: creating a very haunting soundscape without overdoing it in terms of drones and other textures.
