Saint Pacific quotes Carl Jung in new single

For many artists, creation from one’s life experience is a constant whisper beckoning them to share their stories through their chosen medium. In the case of USA’s Nate Smith, the opportunity to peer through the window into his soul comes in the form of the new album, Blue.

We’re not sure if Saint Pacific is a full band venture that Smith fronts or if just chose to use a handle going forward. What we do know is that these songs show a lot of growth for Smith, as a songwriter. He’s got a real Sturgill Simpson depth to not only the lyrics, but to his voice.

There’s songs about sexual freedom (“Maybe This Time”), lost love (“Carl Jung”), found love (“Found”) and some adventurous covers (PJ Harvey, Geeshie Wiley, Bob Dylan). It all rounds out into a pleasant, cohesive work.

Blue releases the 1st of September.
