Spring Tides are an exciting band from Donegal that you need to listen to

Irish four-piece, Spring Tides, have a distinct musical fingerprint. Born out of an affection for American roots music, flamboyant dress and wild nights; their output is, understandably, very infectious.

Made up of James O’Donnell, Gerard McMonagle, Sean McGranaghan, Cathal Kelly; Spring Tides’ raw and thunderous performances are quickly becoming notorious in their home county, Donegal. Their hybridisation of folk, rock and traditional Irish music creates a heavily textured sense of urgency that’s hard to ignore.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that a band with a penchant for pub singsongs that describe themselves as “feckless and reckless” might be somewhat ramshackle, but that’s far from the truth. Spring Tides, and their achievements to date, exhibit a serious sense of focus.

They’ve been championed by BBC Introducing, selected as ‘Video of the Month’ on Balcony TV, supported the likes of Ryan Sheridan, garnered international press attention… and this is only the beginning. Spring Tides display sharp songwriting and an enviable sense of musicality that lingers like smoke-trails.

Having just released their standalone single, ‘Harry Haller’, the band are now building towards the release of their second EP which will be recorded at the world famous Sun Studios, Memphis.

Spring Tides are turning and this next leg of their adventure is looking to be the most fruitful yet. You are hereby advised to watch this space.
