Welcome To The World of Hugo Brijs

Critically acclaimed composer and recording artist Hugo Brijs is set to share his new psychedelic indie rock single ‘Creeper’ on the 5th of April.

‘Creeper’ is the lead single and title track from Brijs’ upcoming album. With its Caledonian Soul-inspired guitar riffs, groovy 70s rhythm section, and lush live strings, the song evokes the spirit of iconic artists such as T-Rex, Rodriguez, Serge Gainsbourg, and Ennio Morricone. Drawing from his background in film scores, Brijs collaborated with The Budapest Scoring Orchestra on a full-string section. This works to add depth and cinematic grandeur to the arrangement which is full of pure analogue textures in a nod to inspirations such as Tame Impala and Arcade Fire.

The London based artists’ first release was back in 2021, the “kaleidoscopic indie-blockbuster” (Andrew Trendell, NME) album titled “Glitra”. Collabs with notable artists like Ed Nash (Bombay Bicycle Club), GIRLI and Will Joseph Cook have solidified his presence in the indie music scene. In recent years, audiences have been immersed in Brijs’ compositions through various TV and film projects. His talent has recently earned him a place on the 2023 long list for a British Independent Film Award for his work on the acclaimed British drama “Pretty Red Dress” (BBC).
