Rapper Monix and producer Ra Kitano make up Duexronin have been making waves in hip-hop since the release of their first single, ‘Kamikaze’, in 2017.
Now, the Western-Sydney duo have marked their welcomed return to the Ronin Empire with visuals for their 2018 release, ‘RONIN GANG’.
‘RONIN GANG’ is a mix of old-school and new hip-hop and features boisterous flows with elements of aggressive trap. In particular, the chorus – a style familiar rappers like Sheck Wes and 6ix9ine – is incisive and scathing in its delivery.
The visuals for ‘RONIN GANG’ are similar in nature as traditional Japanese symbolism merges with crosshairs and bullets to form an image of what a modern-day Rōnin (浪人) might look like.
‘RONIN GANG’ is a call to arms, as it invites the listener on a journey to join the Ronin Empire and revolutionise the world of hip-hop.
“Ninja, what’s your clan? Ronin gang, gang, gang!”
