Dallas singer-songwriter Hannah Johnson captured pop perfection in ‘Mine’

After hitting the 100,000 streams mark on Spotify with her December 2023 debut, Slow Motion, the Dallas singer-songwriter Hannah Johnson picked up the pace with her sophomore release, Mine.

If pop perfection were a destination, Johnson would have claimed its territory with the fiery release which aches with an intensity that visualises the loss of control experienced when affection borders on obsession before feeling the sanctity of security in a relationship.

Following a discordant lo-fi bedroom-pop-esque prelude, the single flows into its high-fidelity funk-chopped grooves which bolster the solid electro-pop backbeat, adding to the magnetic magnitude of the era-spanning pop hit which teases 90s pop aesthetics into a future-ready production.

Johnson’s superlative ability to carry sentiments with sincerity in her vocal lines is second to none after being honed from a young age. After finding her voice and multi-instrumentalist flair, she studied songwriting at James Madison University; a decade later, the world bore witness to her versatility as a songwriter and artist. However she writes her next chapter, it is sure to become part of pop’s legacy.
