A box set featuring 433 of the songs which were performed at the first Woodstock festival is set to be released for the events 50th anniversary.
More than 400,000 people came to see the ilk of Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Santana, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Joan Baez perform at the original Woodstock was held in August of 1986 at the Catskill Mountains in New York state.
The festival’s 50th anniversary falls this August, and ‘Woodstock 50 – Back To The Garden: The Definitive Anniversary’ will be released to mark that landmark.
The 432 tracks will sprawl over 38 CDs, with 276 previously unreleased songs.
The full-length version will have a limited run of 1,969 copies costing £624.99.
The boxset will also feature a director’s cut Blu-ray of the Woodstock Film, a Woodstock hardbound book by Michael Lang, ephemera including a replica original program, replica posters, Henry Diltz photo prints, and a guitar strap – all bound in a screen-printed plywood box with canvas insert.
