Ariana Grande has made pop chart history

Pop titan Ariana Grande has bagged her fourth No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Pop Songs chart.

Her thank u, next single ‘7 Rings’ rose from the second to first spot, a record-breaking move that sees Grande make the quickest accumulation of four No. 1’s by any artist in the chart’s history.

It’s her fourth number one on the list in less than eight months.

The ‘needy’ singer narrowly beat out Lady Gaga for the fastest collection of four Pop Songs No. 1s.

Grande’s mounted up four top-spot hits between 21st July, 2018 through 16th March, 2019, just a week shorter than Lady Gaga’s stretch from 25th July, 2009 through 27th March, 2010 (think ‘Love Game‘ and ‘Paparazzi’ era).

Launched in 1992, Billboard’s Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays from Nielsen Music, who tabulate the results from 167 mainstream top 40 stations.

thank u, next has seen Grande dominate the charts – just last month she held the three top spots on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first artist since The Beatles to do so.
