Bruce Springsteen announces new solo album, Western Stars

Bruce Springsteen has announced his first studio album in five years.

The Boss will release his 19th studio album, Western Stars, via Columbia Records on 14th June.

Fans will get a taste of the album tonight (25th April), when Western Stars’ first single, ‘Hello Sunshine’, is released with an accompanying video.

On the exciting release, Springsteen said: “This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character-driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements, it’s a jewel box of a record.”

The 13-track release features a sweeping range of American themes, including highways, desert spaces, isolation, and community.

Recorded primarily in Springsteen’s New Jersey home studio in New Jersey and partially in California and New York, the album has been produced by Ron Aniello, features vocals from Patti Scialfa on four tracks and mixed by 13-time Grammy winner Tom Elmhirst.

The news comes after the Boss teased a series of cryptic social media posts hinting at the album’s conception.
