With a classic voice and look to match, new school R&B singersongwriter Bryssa is ready to conquer the music scene. She’s small in size, but don’t let that fool you…she has a big voice, with a hint of soul, and a smooth tone with depth that is ready to shake up the industry.
In the wake of rising artists like Justine Skye and Kehlani, Bryssa proves she is here to stake her claim with new single “Cloud IX.” Bryssa, a native of St. Louis, collaborated with the eccentric style of STL producerrapper Najii Person, also a cowriter on the single.
For Bryssa, crafting “Cloud IX” was a defining moment in her budding career as a recording artist. “As a new artist in today’s culture of music, it is somewhat difficult to find your own style, but I believe I’ve found it in “Cloud IX.”
Literally, everything about the song truly defines me as an artist.” One the airy single, it will have you “living in the moment, trying to make a moment on Cloud IX.” A recent college graduate, Bryssa grew up in St. Louis, Missouri listening to Toni Braxton, Luther Vandross, Bootsy Collins, and Gospel.
But although she is influenced by soulful sounds of the past, she also draws from recent influencers such as, Beyonce while aiming to create music that is timeless and transcends genres. Dancing since age 7, Bryssa is no stranger to the stage. Although she has always possessed dance and vocal talent alike, she wasn’t always comfortable behind the mic.
Her musical talent was something she was secretly passionate about but afraid to explore. “You can do it. Use your gift or it will be taken from you,” these were words of advice she heard from her mother since childhood. Motivated by the endless possibilities that come after college and her mom’s continuous encouragement, she put plans to attend medical school on hold to unapologetically pursue her love of music.
Now moving at full force she is determined to make her mark. Though new to the music scene, she possesses talent, drive, and work ethic that are bound to have her reach great heights during her music career. Her new single “Cloud IX” is just the beginning!
