Elton John denies claims that he will be playing at Trump’s inauguration

Sir Elton John has denied rumours suggesting that he will be playing at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The vice chair of Mr Trump’s presidential inaugural committee, Anthony Scaramucci, had claimed that the singer would be performing as part of the President-elect’s inauguration day in Washington DC in January. In the interview with BBC’s HARDtalk, Scaramucci said that the performance would be taking place in order to show the team’s support for LGBTQ right. He went on to say “this will be  the first American president in U.S. history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance”.

A representative for Sir Elton has now responded to the claims saying that they are “completely untrue”.
