Introducing: Alexandra

Looking at this Alanis Morisette double, you would never have guessed that Alexandra takes delight in Beyonce, Jay Z, Rihanna, Drake and Kanye West…but these urban moguls aren’t the only ones that float her boat. The Australian singer-songwriter also admires the poetic storytelling of Bob Dylan, Patti Smith, Lou Reed and Kurt Cobain and The Beatles’ bold and infectious melodies.

Don’t be fool by the girl next door exterior – she adopts the fierce presence of idols Led Zeppelin, Queen, Stevie Nicks and Deborah Harry… all rolled into one…but perfecting that edgy persona wasn’t an easy road to take…

From an early age, Alexandra knew her destiny was to be a singer/songwriter, but after receiving not so encouraging comments, she decided to suppress the passion and turned to painting, photography, writing but somehow they didn’t quite hit the spot like her first love – and she was more than willing to leave a promising modelling career behind to feed that addiction.

Her desire to make an impression as an artist changed when a demo was picked up and remastered by English producer Stuart Epps, which was well-received online. Sparks really began to fly when Epps’ version caught the attention of award-winning producer Keith Olsen who transformed the demo into something that’s larger-than-life, raw and energetic…and that demo became her single, “Criminal”. So here’s your chance to witness a birth of a star; check out the video to her debut offering.

“Criminal” is now available on iTunes.
