Country star Kacey Musgraves turned down a strange audience request to do a “shoey” during a concert in Sydney, Australia.
The four-time Grammy award-winning singer is currently making her way through her first headline tour in the country.
During her performance on Sunday (12th May) as she was playing at the city’s Enmore Theatre, Musgraves was reportedly asked to take a drink from a shoe.
News.com.AU reported that a member of the sold-out crowd called out for Musgraves to do a “shoey”, which grew into a chant from the audience, but Musgraves stood her ground and then firmly declined the strange request.
“That’s disgusting,” the ‘High Horse’ singer said. “I’m not fucking drinking out of your shoe.”
Fans were quick to praise her shutdown of the “shoey” during the show.
One user wrote: “She’s charismatic, intelligent, commanding, beautiful, has some serious vocal ability, is so fucking funny, and last but not least, managed to politely but firmly shut down a shoey request. Respect overload.”
