L.A. vocalist Dolleesi takes us to paradise with “Escape”

I recently got the chance to review “Escape”, the latest single from L.A. based pop singer, songwriter Dolleesi.

The song opens with Island vibe guitars before dropping into a beat and first verse. Dolleesi’s voice is pleasant if not particularly unique. Her Greek accent does give her vocals some originality however. Vocally, fits in nicely with contemporaries such as Dua Lipa.

The main take away for me is that the production is fire. The mixing is top notch and the song sounds like it costs a ton. The harmonies at the top of the chorus are a nice touch as well. Songwriting wise, it has a nice, tight chorus, which really does take you to “an island in the sea”.  However, the bridge is forgettable, but provides a nice break between hooks.

Overall, this is a nice, if safe release from a new pop vocalist in Dolleesi, and we can’t wait to hear more!

Check it out if you are into easy breezy summer songs and singers like Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande.
