Latin pop star Gabriel Diniz has died in a plane crash aged 28

Latin pop star Gabriel Diniz has died in a plane crash while travelling to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday in Sergipe, Brazil.

The singer, who had released three studio albums and was best known for hits like ‘Jenifer’ and ‘Acabou Acabou’ was just 28-years-old.

According to local reports, Diniz was travelling to Sergipe on Monday (27th May) before the plane crashed.

The crash is currently being investigated and the incident is thought to have occurred halfway through the journey.

Two other passengers onboard were also killed.

In a statement, Diniz management wrote: “It is with a lot of pain that we confirm the death of Gabriel Diniz and the plane’s crew.”
