Laura Marling releases video for new track, ‘Soothing’

Laura Marling has just put out a video for her latest track ‘Soothing’. This comes with the news that she will be releasing a new album, ‘Semper Femina’, in March and embarking on a UK tour.

Marling has said that the record is about “addressing questions of how society views sexuality and gender but without seeking to provide definitive answers”.

“I started out writing ‘Semper Femina’ as if a man was writing about a woman, and then I thought; ‘it’s not a man, it’s me’,” she said of the record. “I don’t need to pretend it’s a man to justify the intimacy or the way I’m looking and feeling about women. It’s me looking specifically at women and feeling great empathy towards them, and by proxy, towards myself.”

Laura Marling’s tour dates are as follows:

8 March – O2 Academy, Leeds
9 March – Colston Hall, Bristol
10 March – O2 ABC, Glasgow
12 March – Albert Hall, Manchester
13 March – O2 Academy, Oxford
14 March – Institute, Birmingham
16 March – Dome, Brighton
17 March – Roundhouse, London
18 March – City Hall, Salisbury
