Laura Misch has dropped her stellar new single, ‘Night Drive’.
The latest offering from the jazz-tinged producer, songwriter, and saxophonist exudes confidence in both its pioneering production and immersive songwriting.
A dynamic mix of delicate synths and glimmering piano spin together the subdued bustle of an icy night in the city.
But listeners are transported to a less tranquil car interior, and an anonymous voice shouting at Misch, identified only by the stark lyric: “your anger is fear”, concluding with the singer-songwriter taking the wheel herself.
It’s another example of masterful storytelling from the London artist, who is gearing up to release a mini album Lonely City on 3rd May.
