New reports claims that James Brown was murdered in 2006

A new investigation led by CNN suggests that soul legend James Brown may have been murdered.

On Christmas Day 2006, Brown was found dead aged 73 following a cardiac arrest. “He changed too fast,” Dr Marvin Crawford, who signed Brown’s death certificate at an Atlanta, said: “He was a patient I would never have predicted would have coded… But he died that night, and I did raise that question: What went wrong in that room?”

Crawford says a nurse told him drug residue was found in a tube helping Brown to breathe and says “somebody perhaps could have given him an illicit substance that led to his death”.

“There are legitimate questions about James Brown’s death that can only be answered by an autopsy and a criminal investigation,” writes CNN journalist Thomas Lake, who says 11 people told him that Brown’s death should be reinvestigated.

This latest enquiry into the singer’s death details interviews with nearly 140 people, while tens of thousands of pages of police and court records are said to also be included. Forensics testing and 1,300 pages of text messages are also part of the investigation.
