Ones To Watch at Field Day 2019

Taking place in the brand new location of The Drumsheds in Meridian Water, North London, Field Day 2019 returns next month.

Boasting the loudest festival sound system in the capital and based in a venue which stays open until 3:00 am, the festival is looking to be one of the most exciting events of 2019.

We’ve taken a good look at the festival’s stacked line-up, which features The Black Madonna, Death Grips, Octavian, Julia Holter and Charlotte Adigéry, to help you curate your Field Day 2019 timetable.

The Black Madonna

American DJ and producer The Black Madonna takes to the Field Day stage on Saturday, 8th June.

Described as “one of the world’s most exciting turntablists”, she was named Mixmag‘s DJ of the year in 2016. In 2018, The Black Madonna also played herself as an in-residence DJ within the After House DLC of Grand Theft Auto Online.

A sure-fire party-starter, you’d be a fool to miss this set. Check out The Black Madonna above.

Julia Holter

Almost a year on from the release of her critically acclaimed album Aviary in October 2018, Julia Holter will hit the Field Day stage on Friday 7th June. The Los Angeles composer pens intricately constructed pop ballads from “cathartic solo improvisations” of voice and synth. Have a listen to Julia Holter above and get her added to your list immediately.

Charlotte Adigéry

Belgian-Caribbean artist Charlotte Adigéry spins absurd, poignant tales; bouncing from the topic of lizards to latex in a matter of moments. Adigéry is a masterful storyteller who explores rhythm’s relationship to musicality and humour. Check out this compelling singer above, and catch her at Field Day on the Friday.

Death Grips

Sacramento experimentalist outfit Death Grips return to the Field Day stage on the first night to deliver their one-of-a-kind punk-tinged hip-hop sound. There’s no doubt in our minds that this will be an uncompromisingly high energy performance. This is not one to be missed.

Octavian

Fresh from his win at the BBC Music’s Sounds of 2019, French-born, south-east London-raised rapper Octavian will hit the Field Day stage on Saturday 8th. Octavian has been hailed for his unique rap template, curated from merging elements of R&B, dancehall, grime and house. We’ll see you down there.

Field Day 2019 takes place from 7th June 2019 – 9th June 2019 at Meridian Water, North London. Tickets are still up for grabs and you can get yours here
