PREMIERE: Ben E. Davis releases D.I.M.E. (Dead In My Eyes) as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

LA born, London based singer and songwriter Ben E. Davis crafts empowering and energetic pop songs, with rhythm and soul that penetrate the heart.

Ben’s upcoming single, D.I.M.E. (Dead In My Eyes) chronicles his past experience with domestic violence. The song, an intense spirited melody, expresses his story of overcoming a toxic and abusive relationship. The mood is dark, reflective, and haunting with a contemporary pop vocal juxtaposed against an urban beat.

D.I.M.E. is a moving anthem about finding strength in vulnerability and being unapologetic about it. The emotional magnitude of ‘D.I.M.E.’ is recounted through the telling of Ben’s experience as he believes the power of storytelling is transformational and hopes to inspire and help those who have also been victims of domestic abuse.

The record is an emotional affair, the words conjure up feelings of helplessness and despair, however it also paints a picture of overcoming adversity. The dramatic music production perfectly encapsulates the multitude of emotions into one record. Ben bares his trauma and the pain of what he endured – the process, the awakening and now in his survival.

“The minor piano keys represent my worries and fears whilst the chimes are reminiscent of my feet dragging in the mud. I spent seconds, minutes and hours waiting to leave the dire circumstances.

D.I.M.E. is a survival story. It was my rebirth.”

D.I.M.E. was produced and co-written by artist/producer, Alexi von Guggenberg. Alexi has produced songs for TV shows such as 13 Reasons Why and How To Get Away With Murder.

Since COVID-19, domestic violence has risen by more than 20% as many victims have been forced to stayed at home with their abusers due to lockdown. Ben E. Davis’s management teams are currently in talks with the National Domestic Violence Helpline (in the UK) to donate a portion of the proceeds from the single to charity and bring more awareness about domestic violence to the mainstream.
