Review: What Comes Out When You Merge Techno and Brazilian Carnival?

Hi there my fellow Music Crown readers! As usual, I’m here to present you to something ‘out of the box’, a particular track, album, EP or maybe just some interesting stuff. Well, here I am to discover what comes out when you merge techno and brazilian carnival!

A legitimate representative of Berlin’s techno, Kaiser Souzai  released last week a track called Fanfarra, inspired by his recent move with family to Bahia, in Brazil. There, he’s focused on music production, according to articles published by DJ Mag. Bahia is a caribbean-like, always-summer, land of brazil’s famous carnival and all the percussion that comes within.

That being said, let’s listen!

Gotta listen to the whole track, cause you know, it doesn’t end before it ends.

The whistle and drums set the rhythm from the beginning and teleports you to the middle of a samba school. The arrival of the tambourine and the rhythm make way for a digital mix that permeates Kaiser Souzai’s track, but does not dominate it.

It seems that Kaiser sought to prioritize the emphasis on ethnic musical elements linked to Brazilian and African culture. But not more than until around three and a half minutes when the beat makes Kaiser Souzai’s origin clear and an immersion in the dance floor takes its place.

Despite the dark artowrk chosen by the artist, I can only see people jumping and having fun when I hear the music, I hope you have enjoyed it too.

The single Fanfarra was released last August 24, 2022 by Ballroom Records and will soon have a remix album, so keep an open! See you soon!
