School of Rock child actor who played Zack-Attack arrested for stealing guitars

Joey Gaydos Jr., known for his role as ‘Zack-Attack’ Mooneyham in Jack Black’s seminal rock’n’roll comedy School of Rock, has reportedly been arrested for stealing guitars and an amp.

According to TMZ, Gaydos, Jr. faces four felony charges in Florida for larceny and grand theft – all for stealing musical equipment four times in five weeks.

Florida police told TMZ that Gaydos, Jr. entering guitar shops, testing instruments, leaving with them before selling them in pawn shops.

His loot included an $800 Les Paul Epiphone Prophecy, a $700 Fender Strat, and a $1900 Gibson Les Paul gold top.

The 27-year-old’s latest heist, which ultimately lead to him getting busted by cops, saw the child actor try and steal an amplifier.

Police say that after his arrest on 14th February, the former child actor confessed to all four thefts, reportedly citing that he had reached a point of desperation due to a drug problem.

However, at his following court appearance, he pleaded not guilty to stealing the guitars and is yet to enter a plea in the case of the amplifier.

Despite a starring role in 2003’s School of Rock, it was the only movie Gaydos Jr. ever appeared in.

In the wake of the flicks mammoth success, he made some notable TV appearances, including a skit on Saturday Night Live with Jack Black.

In 2013, Gaydos Jr. reunited with the School of Rock cast at the Gibson Austin Showroom.

Earlier this year, several of the cast members reunited after fifteen years for a New Year’s Eve bash – although Gaydos was notably absent.
