Strong Asian Mothers are back with their latest release, ‘Sober’

London-based artists, Strong Asian Mothers, are back with a brand new track entitled ‘Sober’. The grime influenced, indie hybrid incorporates moody vocals and dark melodic synth-scapes welded firmly together by a bullish distorted 808 boom.

Reminiscent of artists such as Nao and Jai Paul, not forgetting his brother A.K. Paul, ‘Sober’ brings together a chaotic yet soulful blend of finely tuned harmonic vocals over a gritty trap style percussive beat. This track feels like a journey that builds and builds until it finally explodes. The verses bring tension whilst the choruses bring relief. It teases slightly, dropping out now and again to give the haunting vocals room to breathe before cascading into madness once again. Not only does ‘Sober’ meld well with a gloomy day in the headphones but this track is definitely club ready – and a heater at that.

Make sure you catch Strong Asian Mothers at London’s Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on Wednesday 30th November. Their latest EP, ‘Lynx Africa’, available now on iTunes and Spotify.
