The Rolling Stones’ iconic concert film Rock And Roll Circus to receive a deluxe reissue

The Rolling Stones have unveiled plans for a deluxe reissue of their iconic concert film, The Rock And Roll Circus.

Directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, the mind behind Beatles flick Let It Be, the London show was recorded for a BBC televised special in 1968 with a live audience.

Tagged with a 7th June release date in the US and 28th June in the UK, Rock And Roll Circus boxset will boast a 4K Dolby Vision restoration for Blu-ray and DVD, a remixed soundtrack which has been expanded to 28 tracks for release across a double CD and triple vinyl – check out the trailer below.

The concert featured performances from rock legends such as The Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull, Yoko Ono, The Dirty Mac, and John Lennon – all of which will be available to view on the forthcoming released.

Unheard tracks by the collective will be available on the new release for the first time ever.

Bonus material such as unheard tracks, recordings from late concert pianist Julius Katchen, three extra hits from Taj Mahal and a recording of The Dirty Mac performing The Beatles’ ‘Revolution’.

The new release comes as Stones frontman Mick Jagger made his first public appearance since he underwent heart surgery at the start of this month.

The 75-year-old singer was in attendance at the opening night of his partner Melanie Hamrick’s new ballet, Porte Rouge, in New York.

A number of dates on The Rolling Stones tour were postponed when the singer had surgery to replace a heart valve in New York.

Soon after, Jagger shared an image of himself looking well on the road to recovery after the surgery, captioned simply: “A walk in the park.”
