The star’s secret is out! Introducing Antonio Velaz

1. Word in the wood is that you are the secret behind some very recognizable icons of today’s entertainment industry. Can you tell a little about what it’s like being an Exec.Coordinator for celebrities in a big city like Hollywood?

 

First off it is not an easy job because there is so much you have to oversee.  However, being an Exec. Coordinator is very exciting because each client is their own personality and each day is different.  It can have its good, bad and worse but in the end my job is to anticipate and be prepared to spring into action so that it all works out for a spectacular final product whether it be a performance, an audition, a hosting, a fashion show, or any other project.

2. What was your first encounter with this lifestyle that led you to where you are today? Hollywood’s best kept secret!

My first experience with this lifestyle was being appointed the Head of the Fatty Koo fan club.  At the time, they were an upcoming group that was signed to Sony Urban/Columbia Records and had just moved into my hometown.  After they disbanded, I just pursued other ventures that were related to the industry in hopes that I would find my opening which eventually I did thanks to the introduction of reality tv.

3. Do you ever get tired of the stress that comes with being the coordiantor for in such high demand stars ?

Building your name in any field can be tiring and stressful, but I realized early on what this particular career entails and I embrace it by staying grounded and acknowledging that in order to coordinate other people’s lives mine must be in order first.  Basically, I take it one day at a time.

4. Can you tell us some of the celebs who you work with and what it’s  like?

Some of the celebs I work with are Mya, Blac Chyna, Tiffany “New York” Pollard, etc.  Although the celebs that I work or have worked for are all in the industry through different avenues, I can say that all have been a learning experience and are talented, professional, driven and business savvy in their own right.

5.What do you want people to know about you now that the secret’s out?

I actually started off as a Personal Assistant which quickly turned into a Jack of All Trades putting me in the capacity of a booking agent, Road Manager,  Site Administrator, Accountant (Lol), etc.  Diversity is good because “Sometimes in the wave of change we find out true direction”  Another thing that people don’t know about me is that, I work with and support upcoming underground/local artists such as Lil Kaotik from Chi-Town, PhantomDaMonsta and Lef-T both from New Jersey and Nemechizu from Puerto Rico, just to name a few.

7.  If you could give anyone out there advice who is thinking of  becoming an Executive brand coordiantor to the stars what would that be?

 

The advice I would give anyone thinking of pursuing this career path is always remember the opportunities are a privilege not an obligation, stay true to you and never compromise yourself, give respect and demand it as well no matter what your role is within this ever changing industry.
