Kent & Curwen, retired professional footballer David Beckham’s fashion brand, have unveiled their collaboration with The Stone Roses.
Initially announced last year, The Capsule Collection collaboration has now been unveiled via a video on the label’s website.
The range of hats, parkas, and t-shirts features the indie band’s iconic John Squire artwork, in order to: “evokes the indie attitude of the 90’s era in a modern contemporary wardrobe”.
A PR statement from the brand detailed the band’s cultural significance: “Kent & Curwen Creative Director, Daniel Kearns, grew up listening to The Stone Roses, for him they are a band that established the look and the sound of the 90’s. The music and artwork created by The Stone Roses now forms the inspiration for the Kent & Curwen Spring/Summer 2019 collection which celebrates the feeling of British summertime, iconic British music and British culture.”
Beckham hasn’t kept his love of the indie-rock band quiet.
In 2017, he made the iconic indie rock band his first choice on his Desert Island Discs playlist, which he appeared on for the show’s 75th-anniversary.
