This is SHARI

Shari

SHARI is a classically trained R&B vocalist and songwriter from Vallejo, California. The former IT sales representative parted ways with her company earlier this year, deciding it was time to reignite her passion for music. And she’s doing just that, with a little help from Social Media.

SHARI first began a YouTube channel in 2007 while a music student at CSU Stanislaus, where she sang operatic arias by day and crooned R&B remixes into her webcam at night. Her most popular remix before she left the YouTube scene was of J. Holiday’s “Suffocate” which caught the attention of Holiday’s A&R, who is one of many industry professionals that reached out to SHARI to write and submit songs for other artists after hearing her creative lyrics.

Upon graduating from school when the recession hit, SHARI got caught up in the corporate climb and took a longer than expected break from music. During this time, she had a beautiful son, now 5, and while she still had music on her heart she was more focused on building a successful sales career to provide for her son. Now that the songstress and single mom is off the corporate ladder, she is recommitted to creating a career path that she is passionate about.

SHARI aims to release an EP in 2017 where she can incorporate her classical background with her love for R&B and Hip-Hop music. In the mean time she is releasing covers on a weekly basis in an effort to grow a fan base and hopes her creative edits, whether it be lyrically, melodically or stylistically by incorporating operatic vocals, will help her stand out and carve a niche for her.
