Track of the day: S4U – ‘Breathe’

Listed as one of Fader’s ‘U.K. Artists Worth Listening To Next Year’ S4U delivers today’s dose of Track of The Day nostalgia. The Mysterious London act ‘Something 4 You’, better known by their abbreviation ‘S4U’, have released a number of swagged out videos this year to accompany their stream of recent r&b tracks.

Last week Mixmag premiered S4U’s latest track ‘Breathe’ on their Soundcloud page. The throwback beat pays homage to its original contributors Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul whilst S4U makes it their own. The dark r&b rendition boasts dazzling luscious pads and sparkling yet mellow vocals all cemented together by a trashy hip hop break. This song delivers pure nostalgia. Reminiscent of r&b from the early 90’s it is clear S4U draws influences from soulful acts of the past. Since its release ‘Breathe’ has amassed almost 10,000 plays on Soundcloud and is easily pushing S4U to the forefront of U.K r&b for 2017.

If ‘Breathe’ wasn’t enough 90’s nostalgia for you – check out S4U’s video for their song ‘Twice’ below. S4U’s debut Brazil EP is out now – available from LimitedHealth and streamable via Apple Music and Spotify.
