Watch Dave Grohl cover Thin Lizzy and Motörhead at Ronnie James Dio memorial show

Dave Grohl picked up the drumsticks to cover Motörhead and Thin Lizzy with a special live band for the Ronnie James Dio memorial charity show.

The ex-Nirvana drummer was a surprise celebrity guest ‘Ride For Ronnie’ in Encino, California. Check out a clip of the performance below.

Grohl took to the stage for the event’s fifth annual show, which mixes live music and a motorcycle ride, and aims to raise funds and awareness for cancer prevention in memory of Ronnie James Dio, who passed away at the age of 67 in May 2010.

Back in February, Dave Grohl teamed up with the Zac Brown Band to perform a cover of Metallica‘s ‘Enter Sandman’.

The Foo Fighter’s frontman joined Brown and co on stage at their Atlanta concert to give fans the performance.
