Whitney Houston’s estate announce new album and hologram tour

Whitney Houston‘s estate has announced that an album of unreleased material and hologram tour of the late star is on the way.

Plans for a “Vegas-style” musical have also been hinted by Pat Houston, the late singer’s sister-in-law, former manager and the sole executor of her estate.

Speaking on the upcoming posthumous projects with the New York Times, Pat said: “It’s been quite emotional for the past seven years, but now it’s about being strategic.”

Pat elaborated on the hologram tour and other forthcoming projects and their effort to reclaim Whitney’s legacy: “Before she passed, there was so much negativity around the name; it wasn’t about the music anymore. People had forgotten how great she was. They let all the personal things about her life outweigh why they fell in love with her in the first place.”

Pat, who is the wife of Houston’s half-brother Gary Garland-Houston, also dispelled the tabloid-fuelled rumours that Whitney faced financial trouble at the time of her death: “She had money when she died, it wasn’t multimillions like everyone thought, but she wasn’t broke.”

The news comes ahead of the release of a new Whitney Houston memoir later this year.

The book is set to be published and 5th November and see’s Robyn Crawford exploring her close relationship with the late singer, who passed away in February 2012 at the age of 48.

A Song for You: My Life with Whitney Houston will be the first time that Crawford publicly discusses “the moving and often complicated story of her life and relationship with Whitney”.

In a press release, Crawford is described as “a trusted and loyal friend” of Houston, although their relationship has been the subject of much speculation.
