Singer-songwriter Lee Newton came from humble beginnings as she saw her share of hard times growing up in Canton, North Carolina.
She started singing in church when she was 5 years old when her mother would take her.
Lee’s love of music grew as a child when her daddy played country classics like Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline around the house.
Lee’s father (a cab driver) taught her to play the guitar at age seven and influenced by musicians like The Judds, Susan Tedischi and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Her personal sound is a mix between traditional country and raspy blues with an added southern rock flare.
‘Carolina Rain’ sees Lee Newton deliver a stirring and powerful vocal performance that flows alongside uplifting instrumentals, as she gives life to this nostalgic and bittersweet tale.
Lee has opened or performed with legends Ronnie Milsap, Ronnie McDowell, T Graham Brown, Diamond Rio, The Gatlin Brothers, TG Sheppard, and Randy Travis.
