Texas singer-songwriter McKenna Michels is best known for her fearless pop music, mesmerizing vocals and lyrics that come straight from the heart.

After hitting over 1 million views on YouTube and winning the Best Music Video Award at the 2022 California International Shorts Festival, McKenna Michels teamed up with Jason Nevins (Run-DMC) for a dance remix of ‘Born to Die’.
Nick Peterson, who directed the original video, transformed it into a pop art romp to accompany the new remix.
The original release of ‘Born to Die’ sees McKenna deliver energetic vocals which perfectly compliment the catchy melody all of which result in the singer-songwriter giving life to powerful lyrics that tell a captivating story.
The accompanying visuals bring this song to life in the form of a short movie so it’s no surprise it earnt McKenna the award for Best Music Video.
The remix of ‘Born to Die’ sees Jason Nevin add funky melodies and heavy bass beats to the original song, which results in the track having a different vibe to it whilst ensuring that it is just as captive.
“My message in ‘Born to Die’ is for people to never give up because there is life at the end, no matter how many people it feels like are against you or don’t believe you,” explains Michels.
The song is the latest in a string of hits for the young songwriter, who is about to embark on a new tour and release another single in the coming weeks.
