With emotional lyrics and catchy instrumentals, Kaylee Lauren has created a powerful song that is overflowing with raw emotions at every turn.

Kaylee has taken time out of her busy schedule to answer a few of our questions.

1) How did begin your musical journey?

I’ve been singing since I was a toddler, singing was like a first language for me.

She has been writing since lockdown in 2020, where she was with her mental health and needed a space to express herself.

I’ve been writing since lockdown in 2020, where I had been struggling with my mental health and needed a space to express myself.

I started writing for myself but then quickly realized the songs were kinda good, given that I had just started.

I released my debut single “Rollercoaster” in 2021 and have released six more singles since.

2) Who were your musical influences?

Taylor Swift is definitely a huge inspiration for me, as her lyrics are confessional and vulnerable, and the songs are so relatable.

Her work ethic is something I admire greatly. I have watched her Netflix documentary 3 times now, and I always love how after not getting any nominations at the Grammys, she went back into the studio with a “let’s create a better album” mindset.

She didn’t give up or blame anyone for the performance of her album, she just knew she had to work harder. That’s a musician.

3) What’s your life outside of music?

I love spending time with my family and friends. I am very lucky to have close people who understand me and inspire me.

I love fashion so much, I am working on a clothing brand with my best friend. I’ve attended New York Fashion Week two times and it is the most fun!

I love spending time with my puppies and working out.

4) If you could collaborate with any other musician who would it be?

At the moment I’m really loving Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lana Del Rey. These artists are like dream collaborations for me.

5) What’s your favourite genre of music?

Definitely Pop but I love listening to all genres.

6) What’s next for you musically?

I am working on more singles for my upcoming project. I have tour dates in the works, and I have more magazines I will be in.

7) What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I think my strength as an artist is my creativity.

I love working with my producers in the studio and creating my upcoming singles.

Being able to have producers and writers trust me in the creative process and collaborate with me to bring my vision to life is so special to me.

My weakness is probably comparing myself to other artists.

8) What is your guilty pleasure?

I love sushi so much, that is my guilty pleasure. I have this one spot in LA that I frequent like two times a week.

Ahh I’m embarrassed to say that but yes I’m the biggest sushi fan… with a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce.
