Born and reared in Brighton’s greenbelt outskirts, Jorj Sabio fashioned a path into music after moving to London and connecting with the city that his family originally called home.
Here he found a community of like-minded creatives with whom he finessed his song-writing and producing skills as well as taking London’s vibrant live scene by storm as part of South-London collective Gravy River.
Drawing inspiration from various folk music traditions, Jorj Sabio has crafted his own unique brand of alternative R&B, underpinned by the jazz ideologies that originally drew him into the art of music-making.
Beyond the music, Jorj is a passionate campaigner for greater diversity in music and fair treatment of music creators.
In March 2023, they became one of the youngest board directors of the Ivors Academy, an organisation renowned for championing the music-creator community and presenting the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards.
Earlier this year Jorj Sabio released ‘The Springs’, which begins with a radiant and shimmering melody.
The track sees Jorj also unleash soulful beats and a sublime vocal performance, which gives life to emotional lyrics all of which keeps us mesmerized from start to finish.
