Valerie Teicher, otherwise known as Tei Shi, has just unveiled the video for her staggering new single, ‘Keep Running‘. The New York-based artist offers up ‘Keep Running‘ as a follow up to her astonishing 2015, Verde EP.
‘Keep Running‘ is a track that should definitely be chased down. Sparkling with nostalgic ’80s synth and basslines, fused with a mixture of echoing and soulful r&b vocals, this beat delivers a hypnotising synth pop effect that results in a woozy state of vertigo. Mirroring the nostalgic sounds perfectly are the visuals. The neon style video, produced by Agostina Gálvez, overflows with dazzling purple and blue tones, fading in and out to reveal Tei Shi moving fluidly with the sound.
Gálvez, speaking about Tei Shi, the track, and the visuals, said; “She wanted to do a karaoke scene and that was the starting point to develop the rest of the story in the video. What I like the most about it is how ordinary elements become strange, generating a special atmosphere throughout the song. Shooting her was great, her slow moves and graceful gestures made her whole performance hypnotic.”
The latest track by Tei Shi only increases the excitement for her already anticipated debut LP, Crawlspace – which is set for release 31 March 2017 on Downtown Records. Tei Shi is planning a number of live dates for the near future, so watch this space for updates.
