Inside Therapy: Faul & Wad’s Deeply Personal Musical Journey

After building momentum with a string of standout singles — including their recent hit Flores Blancas featuring 4Rain and Anlly Marín — French electronic duo Faul & Wad have arrived at a major milestone: the release of their debut album, Therapy. Far from a typical collection of tracks, Therapy is a deeply personal and immersive journey through their sound, weaving together Afro House rhythms, organic grooves, and emotionally rich melodies. We caught up with the duo to talk about the making of the album, the stories behind the music, and where this new chapter is taking them.

1. Congratulations on the release of Therapy! As your debut album, what does this project represent for you both personally and musically?
It’s a big step for us. Therapy is a reflection of everything we’ve felt and explored over the past few years personally and musically. It’s our most honest and complete project so far.

2. The album blends Afro House, Latin grooves and melodic club energy. How did you approach shaping such a diverse yet cohesive sound?
We love rhythm and percussion and we wanted each track to have its own identity while still feeling part of the same journey. We followed our instincts and let the music flow naturally.

3. You’ve mentioned that each track tells its own story. Can you walk us through a moment or track on Therapy that holds a particularly personal meaning?
Flores Blancas is really special. Working with 4Rain and Anlly Marin from Colombia brought a unique energy. The mix of her voice and our groove created something that felt really deep and personal.

4. Following the massive success of Sauti with Francis Mercier, how did that collaboration influence your approach to the rest of the album?
Sauti showed us how powerful a global connection can be. It pushed us to explore more organic and cultural influences and to trust your gut when blending genres.

5. You’ve spoken about music as a form of therapy. How did creating this album help you grow or process things on a deeper level?
The whole process was like a reset. Making this album helped us reflect, grow and reconnect with why we started making music in the first place.

6. It’s been years since Changes catapulted you to international fame. How has your sound evolved since then and how is Therapy a reflection of that journey?
Our sound has matured. We’ve moved from a deep house with organic elements to something even more rhythmic and emotional. Therapy shows that evolution, still melodic but with more soul and groove.

7. You’ve had support from major tastemakers like Keinemusik, Adriatique and Shimza. How does that kind of recognition impact your creative confidence or direction?
It means a lot. When artists we respect support our music, it gives us confidence to keep pushing our sound and staying true to what we love!

8. What do you hope listeners take away from Therapy — whether on the dancefloor or during more introspective moments?
We hope they feel something real, emotion and joy. Whether they’re on the dancefloor or just listening in their own space, we want the music to speak to them in a personal way.

9. What has been the most rewarding or surprising part of releasing a full-length album compared to dropping singles?

Building a full story. With singles, it’s quick moments, but an album lets us take people on a full journey from start to finish.

10. Now that Therapy is out in the world what’s next for Faul & Wad — tour plans, new collaborations or future projects already in the works?
We’re touring, connecting with the crowd, and already working on new music. More collaborations, more rhythm, and definitely more surprises are coming soon.
