10 upcoming artists to watch in 2022

There has never been a more exciting time for music; the industry has completely turned around, with such a diverse range of genres being provided between artists.

1. Paris Texas

Paris Texas is an LA-based hip-hop duo that got together in 2018. The duo released some music in 2018 and 2019, but then seemed to disappear for a while.

After hitting the scene again in 2021 and removing most of their previous work from platforms like Soundcloud, the two released some incredible new tracks. Watch this space for more music!

2. SSGKobe

SSGKobe is a rapper/singer/songwriter from Louisiana. He is known for his songs thrax, Antisocial 2, MIA, Don’t Miss, and more.

3. Sam Ryder

Sam Ryder is a singer-songwriter from Essex, England, who has been making waves on the international pop scene. His latest single, “Space Man,” saw him place second in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest – a drastic improvement on the UK’s result the previous year.

4. Bakar

Bakar is a musician whose sound can be described as indie rock and alternative pop. He was born in London, England, and started getting involved in the music industry back in 2015.

Bakar’s music has already been featured in a promotion for collaboration between Adidas and Arsenal FC, so he’s definitely one to watch!

5. Terry Presume

This Florida rapper is going to be a huge star in 2022. He’s got a great voice and an ear for beats that can make you want to dance as well as listen closely.

His music offers an interesting blend of upbeat pop sounds with rap lyrics – it is almost verging on psychedelic.

6. Yeat

Yeat is an alternative hip hop artist from Oregon, who released his first mixtape in 2021. Some of the biggest hits from the record include Sorry Bout That and Money Twërk, which, like Sam Ryder’s music, rose to fame on Tik Tok.

Yeat’s music is pretty unique; he’s a fan of ad-libbing so expect to hear some interesting words in his tracks that you won’t hear anywhere else.

7. PawPaw Rod

If you’re a fan of funk, PawPaw Rod is definitely an artist to watch. He has released just a handful of songs to date but, like many other artists on our list, became hugely popular over the last 2 years. If you love a strong bass line, check out his latest track, Hit ’em Where it Hurts.

8. Wet Leg

Wet Leg is an Isle of White-based band that blends indie-rock and alternative in their music. Their debut album, Wet Leg, was released in 2021 and includes funky pop riffs as well as catchy lyrics.

The album covers many genres, drawing inspiration from a range of artists, and was generally received well by critics. Wet Leg is set to tour later this year, so why not book a ticket if you love their debut album.

9. Faouzia

Faouzia is a Moroccan-Canadian singer and songwriter who has already been compared to global megastars such as Adele – definitely one to watch then!

Faouzia has even collaborated with John Legend on his single Minefields, which really threw her into the limelight. Her emotional lyrics are sure to resonate with listeners and leave you thinking about the songs long after you’ve stopped listening.

10. Blue Lab Beats

Blue Lab Beats are a British electronic jazz duo (comprising NK-OK and MR. OM) that draws inspiration from funk, R&B, hip-hop, and soul music to create a beautiful, unique sound.

The duo recently signed a record deal with Blue Note Records, so you can rest assured that there are more great things to come from these two.
