36birds Shares His Addictive Queer Rave Track ‘Boy’

36birds is seductive on his new track ‘Boy’ a hybrid of Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy’ and contemporary R&B with the addition of pulsating Techno beats and hardcore dance continuum under an autotuned vocal topline. Unashamedly exploring club seduction as a queer individual, 36birds also makes a powerful statement by offering the track as a free download.

36birds is unafraid of tackling issues surrounding being both Black and queer in club spaces, something that is reflected in his music and a driving force behind it. As 36birds made the move from illegal rave spaces to commercial clubs, he set out to carve out his own space for the more minority communities in the rave scene. In the small Swiss town that he grew up in, 36birds faced homophobia regularly, citeing: I wasn’t able to walk through the town without someone screaming something at me”.

Talking about the track, 36birds shares: The picture I had throughout the song was me partying at the club and exploring the atmosphere, talking about all the boys there”

With a playful video to compliment the track, 36birds invites us to an important insight into his world.
