5 lofi hip hop producers you should follow in 2022

Lofi Annan

Just visualize yourself alone in your bedroom. It’s sunset and you’re living in a busy city, but this is a moment for you to have a moment for yourself. You’re probably in your 20s and don’t know much about your future right now. However, music works as a refuge from all this uncertainty, so you decide to listen to a popular lofi hip-hop playlist and disconnect yourself from the outside world.

I know it doesn’t apply to everyone, but this particular scenario may resonate with a lot of lofi hip-hop listeners and fans. It’s a feeling many of us share, because this music is all about the calm it brings.

If you don’t know what lofi hip hop is, it is a form of downtempo music that has been trending for some time. Influenced by chill-out music and hip-hop, it’s known for its ethereal, delicate sounds and flowing melodies.

This music became popular in the mid-2010s, and now it’s an internet meme. Millions of people listen to this genre because they want to relax, study or even sleep. On the other hand, there’s an online community of lofi hip-hop lovers and producers that keeps growing.

Lofi hip-hop is still in demand. There are tons of new producers you can discover on YouTube or Spotify. And that’s why I’m making a selection of 5 lofi hip-hop producers you should follow in 2022. However, there are many other great artists you can listen to as well, but here are my favorite ones.

This is a guest post written by Nikolas Perčić from The Blazar, a music & lifestyle blog.

Psalm Trees

UK-based producer Psalm Trees is probably one of the best lofi-hip hop artists right now. His music arrangements prove that he has a rich, distinct style. Far from being generic, Psalm Trees knows how to captivate his listeners and keep them focused. His album You Don’t Know What Love Is works perfectly as an introduction to lofi hip-hop to those who are new to this world.

Ivylake

Ivylake may not be the most popular lofi producer out there. I can’t find enough information about him/her on the Internet. Nevertheless, his/her latest EP, called Moonfern, lives up to the standards of modern lofi hip-hop. This extended play distinguishes itself by its pleasant sound and textures. Undoubtedly, you can expect a journey of tranquility and introspection.

Celestial Alignment

He’s a Finnish composer and producer based in Helsinki. His sound portrays the nostalgia and fragility we all feel from time to time subtly. He often mixes soft guitar riffs with atmospheric sounds, and his style is minimalistic yet moving, highlighting his composing skills. I recommend listening to his EP called Precious Moments.

Lofi Annan

If you’re looking for an elegant, avant-garde lofi hip-hop song, then You Never Change by Lofi Annan is what you need to be listening to. However, there are many other tracks you will probably enjoy from this artist, such as Under the Stars and Rainy Dayz. He knows well how to make all the elements complement each other when he produces a beat. And that’s essential when it comes to making good music.

Lofi Annan is a Ghanaian producer who has released multiple songs and EPs. He also has a record label called JamLoch Records. If you like his music, you can follow him on Instagram too.

Kainbeats

Atlantis, his latest album, is a surreal experience. Kainbeats created sweet melodies and a cozy atmosphere for those who want to escape the world for a while. Tender, soft, harmonious, pleasant. There are plenty of words I can use to describe this album. This LP is a little bit gentler than regular lofi hip-hop beats. As a result, you can easily immerse yourself in the calm waters of Atlantis.
