87 and the Toys release their new EP ‘Japanesy if you Pleasey’

Portland based trio 87 and the Toys share their brand new EP ‘Japanesy If You Pleasey’. Delivered in an authentic lo-fi packaging, 87 and the Toys fuse their combined American and Japanese cultures to create a bona-fide, indie collection of songs. The EP delves into a plethora of subjects from goading Republican governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, over his attitude to COVID-19, to more irreverent subjects including all-you-can-eat Sushi restaurants and the sadness felt when realising there are no more episodes of BoJack Horseman to binge-watch.

The band is comprised of Dave on stand-up bass and guitar; Hana on min-drum kit, piano and vocals and Patrick on rhythm guitar and vocals. 87 and the Toys strive to keep their music as pure and DIY as possible, straying from any filters and overblown production techniques, with their new EP being recorded entirely on 8-track via a tiny Tascam recorder. Their admirable commitment to artistic integrity is awe-inspiring, and their captivating quirky style surely sets them apart from the rest.
