Philadelphia-based producer and songwriter 92elm has built a sought-after sound, with his refreshing production ideas leading to credits alongside Khalid, Anitta, and Max Fry. After his debut in 2017, the artist’s releases have consistently risen through the up-and-comer ranks.
Now steadily revealing the intricate grooves of his upcoming five-track ‘There You Are’, 92elm has released the single ‘Tell no Tales’. The new single brings together bright keyboard accompaniment with a silky smooth bass groove, combining the frequencies with polished drum rhythms that convey a slight haziness over the track.
Vocally, 92elm leans into the rich push and pull beneath him, layering his voice to allow him to bring a sense of presence to laid-back lyricism. The lead melodies shine through from start to finish, giving the track its earworm infectiousness.
Talking about his upcoming EP release, 92elm shares, ”This EP is a leap forward for me – My vocals & lyric writing are more up front & honest than anything I’ve created in the past. The EP contains themes of loss, pain, feeling stagnant in life, and moving through these things in the process of stepping into myself fully. That’s why I titled it ‘There You Are’, because writing about these challenging experiences helped me locate myself.”
