Simeon Hammond Dallas is a small black woman in a white mans world, smashing patriarchy with every lyric & compositional device she’s honed busking on the streets of Camden.
If ever there was a perfectly recorded raw take, this is it.
Unmistakably British yet with all the hallmarks of an authentic Americana artist.
‘A Hundred Lovers’ features impressive vocals from Simeon Hammond Dallas alongside a truly a funky and vibrant melody.
The lyrics are simply beautiful and have a intangible charm to them.
Of the song, Simeon says: “I wrote A Hundred Lovers after a text conversation with my friend talking about dating someone and her being confused about which man I was talking about.
I told her jokingly, I have a hundred lovers, and then thought it sounded quite poetic & started writing couplets with the refrain, I have a hundred lovers and none of them stay.”
Simeon has stories to tell, some hard to hear, but her candour makes her an exciting prospect for the media & those brave enough to feature her unique take on the world.
