Chicago-based pop artist Adem Dalipi releases his new jazz-infused single Nothing I Wouldn’t Do.” As a self-taught blues composer and American Idol alum, Dalipi showcases his unique blend of pop and striking vocal talent on the new single. With swooning lyrics, Nothing I Wouldn’t Do will have you on your feet celebrating the warmth and excitement of love.

Adem Dalipi is a blues-influenced Pop/RnB artist and producer, in the style of John Mayer, Charlie Puth, and Shawn Mendes, and recently became a Yamaha Guitar Ambassador. After attending the 2015 Chicago Blues Fest, Dalipi became enthralled with the blues and was particularly moved by Buddy Guy’s rain-soaked yet blistering performance. After the set, Dalipi took it upon himself to study the blues genre and some of the greats.

Music Crowns had the chance to speak with Adem and learn more about his latest track and what’s to come:

1. What’s the meaning behind “Nothing I Wouldn’t Do?”

The meaning behind “Nothing I Wouldn’t Do” ties to the lyrics. It’s a feel-good song about finding that right person that you truly love, and explaining how there are endless bounds that you would reach to be with that person. It’s the type of song to get you on your feet and enjoy the limited time you got with your person.

2. When you’re creating a new song, what comes first? The lyrics or the melody?

Each song really has it’s own unique start when it comes to songwriting. “Nothing I Wouldn’t Do” was heavily based off of the chord progression, which led to making the melody first before the lyrics and story came to me. I really like to change it up with my writing process, and sometimes I’ll get those 3 am ideas of lyrics which I’ll later write the melody and progression to.

3. How did you get your start in music?

No one in my family has ever thought of doing music, especially coming from a background of immigrants. I was fortunate enough to have a family supportive enough to let me chase my dreams, and I wouldn’t have been doing music if my 3rd grade music teacher pointed out I had a strong ear for music and picked it up quickly. He ended up calling my mom to let her know that I should pursue music which is when I got my first guitar and started my journey of writing and producing my own tunes later on.

4. Who is an artist you’d love to collaborate with?

One of my dream artists to collaborate with would have to be Mac Ayres. I really love his style with music production and how he layers ad libs and vocals on his tunes.

5. What is one moment in your career that you’re most proud of??

One of my proudest moments in my career has to be going through American Idol. I was 15 at the time when a casting producer reached out to me to audition, and after going through the pre auditions, I had also gotten a golden ticket from Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry, which led to me making it to Hollywood week! It was an amazing experience to live my childhood dream.

6. What has been your favorite song to perform live and why?

I would say my favorite original to perform would have to be “Empty Promises” as it’s a high energy song live and my band really adds a new energy to the song that you can only experience live. But for a cover song, I’d have to say the most fun song that we do would have to be “I Don’t Need No Doctor” by Ray Charles.

7. Are there any new exciting releases coming up in the future?

Empty Promises and Nothing I Wouldn’t Do are two tracks from my EP that’ll be coming out next year, which the EP brings a wide variety of style and stories that I’m super excited to share with the world.
