Aisyah has released a remix of her stand out 2021 track ‘Slow Down’. The RnB single garnered lots of hype with its release earlier this year, but this reworking showcases a different side to the song. The remix is much smoother, but exudes confidence and attitude – which are two essential ingredients in RnB.
Using her experience working in the film industry, ‘Slow Down’ has cinematic elements which really push it to the next level. The call and response nature of the verses and chorus highlight this point, as the entirely relatable internal discussion that we all face when forming new relationships is brought to the forefront. This debate is heightened with the most recent mix as Zalelo is brought in to add another angle to the debate, a self-assured take which says “I will do what I want to be happy.”
These feelings of hesitancy and indecisiveness as the main talking points of the track, and while the definitive answer may be unclear, this remix of ‘Slow Down’ is clear, concise and successful in everything it wants to do.
